Wetter Weil Am Rhein is a municipality in the district of Lrrach in Baden-Wrttemberg, Germany. It is situated on the right bank of the Rhine, opposite the French city of Saint-Louis. As of 2020, the town had a population of 27,228.
Wetter Weil Am Rhein was first mentioned in a document in 786. In the 13th century, it was granted town privileges by the Bishop of Basel. The town was a member of the Swabian League from 1376 to 1519. In 1689, it was destroyed by French troops during the Nine Years’ War. The town was rebuilt in the 18th century, and it became a major center of the textile industry.
