Wetter Neukirchen vorm Wald is a town in the district of Passau, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated on the river Inn, close to the Austrian border. As of 2020, its population was 7,556.
The town was first mentioned in 1170 as “Niuchirchen”. The name is derived from the Old High German words “niu” (new) and “kirchen” (church), referring to the new church that was built in the town at that time. The town’s economy is mainly based on agriculture and tourism. It is also home to a number of small businesses and industries.
